Child Seat Safety Program
The White River Township Fire Department of Greenwood, Indiana is promoting a child passenger safety public service geared to protect Hoosier children’s lives on the nation’s highways. We have a permanent fitting station available during normal business hours. Life Safety Officer, Craig Zollars is CPST/I certified, the Child Passenger Safety Technician/Instructor. This permanent fitting station is staffed by nationally certified child passenger safety technicians who will inspect car seats and instruct families on how to properly secure them in their vehicles.
Statistics show that at least 4 out of 5 car seats are used incorrectly. Improper use of a child safety seat can lead to severe injury and or death.
The Governor’s Council on Impaired and Dangerous Driving is funding this program with technical support provided by the Automotive Safety program at the Indiana University School of Medicine.
