Fire destroys automobile

       An automobile that caught fire on Saturday was a total loss, according to fire department officials.  The incident occurred in the street in front of 955 Santa Maria Drive in Greenwood around 4:52 p.m. on Saturday evening.  The homeowner called to report a vehicle on fire in front of the residence and upon the fire department's arrival, the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames.  The fire was extinguished quickly, but not before the small car was completely destroyed.  The cause of the fire is still being investigated.  No one was injured in the blaze.
